Calling All REIGN
Jun 21, 2011, 9:12 pm

Hello REIGN, t's time for our annual Gil Young Memorial Swim Meet which is also a Northwest Zone Meet. The meet is Friday-Sunday, July 8th-10th (meet information below). I am looking for volunteers to fill the below positions and asking for donations to our hospitality room. If you plan on swimming in the meet, please volunteer whatever time you can.  Talk up the meet to family and friends; you can‘t get any closer to the action then a timers chair!   If this is your first meet, or your first meet in a while, no better way to learn the masters meet ropes then to volunteer.  Take a look below, and if something strikes your fancy, email me back what you would like to do and when you are available and I will add you to my volunteer list!  As it was last year, this meet is one of only two LCM masters meets held in Oregon this summer; let’s make it a great one. Thanks to you all in advance.  Swim fun, swim fast!

Marshals watch the warm-up/warm-down area to be sure people are not diving when they are not supposed to, help clear lanes for starts and after warm-ups and breaks so competition can begin.  Plan to arrive arrive at least 10 minutes before warm-up begins on the day(s) you are to marshal: Friday=2:50PM, Saturday and Sunday=1:50PM

There is a meet this weekend at Mt. Hood so we will be inside at DD. Which might not be all bad, whats up with this weather??? The schedule is above.

Big congrats to Bob Needham for completing the Tampa Bay Marathon Swim!!! Bob is a inspiration to us all on his quest to swim for Suicide Prevention!!! Make sure to tell him good job and check out his website at bobswims.com.

Lastly a big shout out to all those who swam at Masters Nationals in Mesa a couple of weeks ago. Reign was well represented as follows: Heather Blair, Mark Braun, Pat Cotter, Vern Dasch, Arlene Delmage, Aubree Gustafson, David Hathaway, Phil King, Roxanne Redwine Baker, Allen Larson, Allen Stark, Carol Stark, Jeanna Summers, Joy Ward and Betsy Watkins all swam great and had a fun time swimming relays and enjoying sunny Arizona.
